bunch of pork and made pulled pork sandwiches for town.  Filling out the meals was homemade beans and coleslaw.  A BIG thanks to the Alabama Hills Cafe in Lone Pine for donating 150 buns!!!  We went through all 150, delivering the same number of meals through Independence and the outlying area for free!  Thanks to all that helped and to Independence for being such a great helping the independence Civic Club cook the meat for the Independence Day deep pit BBQ for years (some decades!) and this year was no different despite COVID.  The fire was lit July 3, and the meat up along US 395, PAWS members were back at Dehy Park finishing up a fence that the group paid for and constructed around the deep pit BBQ at Dehy Park in Independence.  The "pit" has been at the park
